I'll be doing a name change, this name is very long and can be summarized to "Pin Bonus Percentages". It also isn't linked on any page. --Joshrl 21:37, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

It was linked from Haggling Magus424 23:58, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

I noticed I was looking at the wrong spot after checking again. XD I changed the link inside Haggling to this page when I noticed too. --Joshrl 00:05, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Just did some cleaning in the table :P Liack 18:58, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I'll make some changes to the table, with values checked with memory editing. There is a thing I can point out about the max profit value: it seems like the max profit value is the first one which get the percentage up (hard to explain). Say, you're selling a thief's knife, base value 3400. The max profit for the smiling man (more on this later) is 4522 pix, which will bring the percentage to 133% (as in, 4521P is still 132%), and 4523 will not satisfy the customer.

Another thing I noticed, when you suggest a price that a customer finds too expensive, you can actually suggest a higher price and be able to sell the item. Same exemple, if you choose 4523 (1 pix too high) for the Thief's Knife, you can go as high as 4692P (138% of base price) and get a sell. This needs more verification though.

Also, there are two different kind of "Town Man" I think, the smiling one and the other one. It seems they have different expectations. (Needs verification)

I'm the anon from above. After a little more experiment, I've noticed that there's no fixed max profit value, and it looks like it's randomized. Then again, maybe it depends on the reputation, or the base price of an item. I'm currently making a table with excel, and will upload it somewhere when I have enough samples, or make some statistic graphs.

For the little girl, at least, the facial expression is very much a clue as to what you can sell items for... "I'm getting this for my brother! [in a huff]" makes Just Pin 1-2% less than "I'm getting this for my brother! [happy]". Reputation does seem to be involved as well in a very, very small way. (I've gotten around a dozen hearts from the little girl thanks to runs on candy and books, and the Just Pin target crawled up mayyybe 2%?). DerfK 22:10, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Tear did say that sometimes a person will haggle but actually be lying about how much they're willing to pay. Bluffing you, so to speak. That would seem to explain the above phenomenon of raising your price during a haggle. Calling their bluff, as it were.

@Naast: Verifying, i was able to sell a blue (low price) item to a townfolks-man for over 100%... but i dont remember his expression... or even what item that was =/ First i tried it around 75%, he wanted to pay less for it, i raised my price to 112%, he, again, wanted less. Then i went a bit down to 105% and he bought it! I have to try this with high-price items! maybe i can get 300% of the base. hehe...

Just in case, a heads up. I need to do a lot of research on Griff because his buying is pretty hard to figure out. Most of my numbers are based after I got a lot of "happy buying hearts" from him and leveled up his customer status. Before then, I found him to be pretty cheap, but not as bad as Prime.

For inflated prices, sometimes the woman will balk at 238-40% (even though this maybe in pin range). Also, there is no indication at times from her facial expression before this happens.

Prime is also a little bad in this instance as I would not trust a pin at 105% as I have seen her balk a number of times at 104% (and 209-10% for inflated). So I would question anything higher for pin info (meaning her rep is very high) if you want to keep your combo going if Prime shows up.

Personally, I have never found Griff really that must of a cheapskate, comparibilty to say...Elan (whom I have to consider even more poor than Louie). Pin hits for Griff at 104-5% and about 220-22% for inflated.

For Euria, regular is 359-60% for pin, deflated items from her 159-60% (ie.: precious metals). I would be horriffied to buy from her if the item was inflated.

Selling Decreased Items to the Old Man[]

For a decreased item, I sold i for 60% (1000 -> 600pix) and it was close.

It says "?" on the Pin Bonus Percentages page.
